Regulatory Compliance
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Over decades of operation, keeping abreast of new and changing regulatory procedures and requirements has been a foundation for PELA’s project successes and maintaining long-term client relationships. Much of our work is either directly related to compliance or includes aspects thereof at sites throughout the United States and numerous international locations.
Clients include those PELA assists in achieving compliance and those that are regulators. PELA has served as a consultant for large private companies; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; Office of Inspector General; Federal Highway Administration, State, county and municipal Department of Transportation; Office of Surface Mining; U.S. Department of Justice; Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Tennessee Valley Authority; Southern Company Services; state regulatory agencies; large higher education institutes; chemical manufacturers and processors; the general public; and more.
Our professionals maintain working familiarity with the regulations of the Clean Water Act (CWA), National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), Safe Drinking Water Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA), and others, and those of underlying established federal programs and comparable state programs. In addition, PELA enjoys a good reputation among the regulatory agencies and good working relationships with agency personnel.
